Happy Monday!

 Lemon Exploration

The leftover lemons from our lemonade were kept in the refrigerator over the weekend.
Today the children were able to examine them and pull them apart.

Such a wonderful fine motor experience!

Journals

During small group time, the children added their first page to their journal.
They will keep this journal in our class this school year, adding their pictures and stories to it.
Their first entry was a drawing of a lemon.
They told me what they drew. If they wanted, they told me what they have noticed about lemons.

At the Easel

Look at these young artists!
They are so focused on their creations!

What a Beautiful Morning!

Our outdoor space is just so wonderful!
We also did a little weeding. We pulled up the whole plant, roots and all!

Yummy!

Squeezing out that juice! Push down and turn is really hard work!

During rest time, Mrs. Lohman made the sugar mixture. So after rest time, we were ready to test!

Making Lemonade

We're Making Lemonade!

Today we counted our lemons and talked about what we needed to do to make lemonade.

First, we washed one of the lemons and cut it in half.

We smelled them, of course!

Mrs. Lohman showed us how to get the juice out using the juicer.
We'll need to push down and turn the lemon.

Wow! It sure looks different now.
We noticed the juice, the pulp, and the seeds.

After Rest Time

We got to work! We drained the juice out of four lemons!
We talked about how we needed strong hands to do this.

We also worked together!

We'll finish the rest tomorrow!

Yellow Truck Update!

The yelllow truck was in the parking lot again! Did it ever move? Maybe it has a flat tire!
We also noticed the John Deere tractor across the street. We really couldn't tell what is was doing.
As we looked up the street, we counted four school buses!

Learning the steps to take when using water colors

Snack Time

We love eating outside.
We've noticed the yellow truck the last two days.
If you had a truck, what color would it be?

Look What We Did!

It was so hot!

Have a great night!
