Lent

We've taken off five links on our chain, so we've walked through five Bible stories.

Each story reminds us that we have a Rescuer.

A New Story

During story time, we read Cozy by Jan Brett.

Cozy is Jan Brett's latest book which features a musk ox and many other Artic animals.

A New Season - LENT

 Lent

During the past two days we have talked about the new season of the church year.

We changed our altar from Epiphany to Lent.

We added the purple parament and the Lenten cross.

We lit all six candles. As we get closer to Good Friday, we will gradually light fewer candles.

We are learning Lent is for thinking, remembering, and praying.

We have a chain for each day in Lent.

We took off three links so far.

With each link we will read a Bible story.

One week later and no school days in between!

We talked alot today about Lent.

First, we celebrated by shouting the special word, "ALLELUIA!"

We had a little "alleluia" parade.

Then we put the alleluia away in a special brown bag.

We will shout and celebrate again with the special word on Easter day.

We have much more to learn about this special time of the church year.
