What fun to share our birthday day!

These are creations are just so amazing!

They are doing a great job adding details.

Ash Wednesday

Special Chapel

Mrs. Rouland's and Mrs. Douglas' classes joined us in the sanctuary today.
We tied a bow on the box holding the special word.
We'll open the box after Easter

The children received ashes on their hand or forehead to remind them of all that Jesus did for us.

Another experience

The children drew a picture of something they have done wrong.
We hung these cards on large black frame in the hallway.
Even though we know we do things wrong, we also know Jesus forgives all of our sins.

Footprints in the Snow

We loved making paths in the snow even if it was super cold.

Self Portraits

Today the children began the second of a three step self-portrait creations.
They are doing a great job!

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Thursday Alleluia Chapel

We sang "Hallelujah! Praise Ye the Lord!"
Mrs. Helmkamp took down the Alleluias.
Alleluia is a special word we use to praise Jesus.

During the 40 days of Lent, we will keep our Alleluias in this box.

After Easter, we will take them out and celebrate that Jesus is alive.
In our classroom we are decorating more Alleluias for the box to be used after Easter.

Block Building

Tall, tall buildings were popular this week...
And sometimes smaller designs.

Favorite Jan Brett Book

Ten children chose Hedgie's Surprise as their favorite Jan Brett book.
Five children chose The Mitten
Three children chose The Gingerbread Baby
Two children chose The Snowy Nap
One child chose The Hat as his favorite.

The children enjoyed retelling The Mitten using their mitten. They brought them home this week and they would love to tell you the story. If they need a little help, the animals climb in the mitten in this order - mole, rabbit, hedgehog, owl, badger, fox, bear, mouse.

Outdoor Discoveries

An Awesome Piece of Clear Ice!
Pounding on the frozen mulch!

Parakeet Movie Work

Pictures coming soon ......
We are making a movie.
When it's finished, we will schedule a viewing party.
We'll keep you posted.

Look what I did!

Jesus Time

Jesus comes to visit Mary and Martha. In this story Jesus reminds us that helping others is important, but we want to remember to stop and listen to His teachings found in the Bible.

Outside Time

Thank goodness for our rain boots!
There was some great muddy play happening!

We had a great day!
