Advent is a Time of Waiting

Monday/Tuesday Happenings

Sunday was the first Sundy of the New Church Year.

On Monday we changed our altar from the green cloth to blue. We also added an Advent wreath. This week only one candle is lit. It is the candle of Hope.

During Jesus time, we read God's Special Baby. This wonderful book is about God's people waiting and waiting for God's special baby. After waiting a long time, an angel finally came to Mary. The angel told Mary she would be the mommy to the very special baby, Jesus. We are also learning a new song, "Advent is a time of waiting. Advent is a time we wait for Him. Advent is a time of wai-----ting. We also have to wait for ______." We fill in the blank with things we wait for.

Getting Ready for Jesus' Birthday!

On Monday, we made fresh playdough to use with our Christmastime cookie cutters.

Notice the basket full of cookies.

We painted stars to decorate our room.

We also started making colorful snowflakes for our tree.

Our tree needs a little more work. 😁
Everyone will need to wait to see the finished product!

Something else we are waiting for ... the completion of the new playground. Wonderful progress was made again this past weekend. We have a stage with a bench for guests to observe our performances. The tunnel finishing work is beautiful!

Other Happenings

Marveling at the changing tree

Exploring with balls and hoops

Creating with magna tiles

Caring for the babies

Flipping pasta! (He actually did accurately flip it a few times.)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Guess the Blessing!

Mrs. Reed led our Thanksgiving chapel in the Commons today. For her message she played "Guess the Blessing." She reminded us that our house, food, and family are blessings. Our most important blessing is the cross. The cross reminds us of Jesus' great love for us.

God's richest blessings be with all of you during this year's Thanksgiving celebrations!
