Jesus is our Good Shepherd

Chapel Day

Mrs. Reimenscheider's sixth grade class led our chapel today. They acted out the story of the Good Shepherd and the lost sheep. We know Jesus is our Shepherd and we are his sheep. He loves us so much! He will do anything for us! We also sang, "I just wanna be a sheep!"

Monster Work

The children did a great job working on their imaginary friends, or monsters, as we've been calling them.
They are also having fun making up fun names.
A few children worked on their monsters during choice time and all the children worked on them during group time.
These three young ladies shared their monster creation with the class.

So grateful for our outside time!

The children were very brave when they heard the thunder and the storm during naptime today.

A Happy Monday!

 Jesus Time

Today's story, The Easter Day Surprise, reviewed some of the details of the first Easter day. What a surprising, confusing, exciting day it was!

During this week, the children will be telling Mrs. Lohman their version of the Easter story. Their stories will be placed in their portfolios. It's always wonderful to hear which details they remember.

Another Book

This simple book is so much fun. While this boy is playing outside, three imaginary friends come to play with him. They stay until his mom calls him inside for dinner. The children are excitied to make their own book. They are thinking of names for their imaginary friends and will make them out of construction paper and other fun materials.

Outside Time

The weather changed from dark to bright by the time we went outside. We had a wonderful time playing in our space once again.

We were excited to see the robin nest again today.
We saw the momma on the nest feeding the babies.
When she flew away, we could see three little heads peering out over the nest.

Easter Celebrating Continues!

Jesus Time

Today we read this book.
The children are fascinated to learn the details of this amazing story.
We also sang and danced to our favorite Easter song, "Jesus Lives! Alleluia! Amen!"
We put away our Lenten cross and now just have the Christ candle on the altar.

Morning Egg Hunt

They hide the eggs; they find the eggs!

A Beautiful Day!

Love our play space in the spring time!!!
We've been noticing the robin. The babies have hatched!

Alleluia! Easter Joy!

Chapel Time

The Easter eggs in Mrs. Lohman's basket
Green - for Palm Sunday
Purple - for the bread and wine
Red - for the blood Jesus shed on the cross
Brown - for the stone placed in front of the tomb

Celebrating! Celebrating!

At the end of chapel we had a wonderful time celebrating.

Jesus is alive! Alleluia!

New Container of Jelly Beans

We loved them!

Playing in the Rain

It was just a perfect rain for playing outside!
If you get mud on your hands, you can rub them on the grass!
Pink on pink!

Easter Joy!

Plastic eggs are the best!

Add ten buckets and Easter grass, then you have great fun!

New stuff in the sensory table

Dancing and Celebrating that Jesus Lives! Alleluia!

.... with shakers during our morning meeting!
And with streamer during Jesus Time! (Too busy dancing for pictures!)

Outside Time

It was raining just a little bit, so we went outside with our rain boots and had a great time!

The ever changing "Rock River"

Today we moved some of the rocks to help the water flow into the drain. The children placed floating wood chips on the water and watch it flow to the drain.

Listening to the water flow down the drain.
Some children loved carrying water from the tub to the river.

Some messy play joy!
