Alleluia! Alleluia!!

Easter Celebrations

Outside with all our preschool classes and kindergarten -

Mrs. Lohman led everyone in singing and celebrating. We also shouted our Easter cheer, "The rock was rolled away! Hooray! Easter Day!" Look in your child's backpack for the songs and the cheer.

All around our campus we found the special word, "Alleluia!"

We also decorated our room with the butterflies and alleluias we put away before Lent.

During Jesus Time

We sang and we danced! Jesus is alive!! Alleluia!!

We starting playing with the plastic eggs.

Jesus is alive! Alleluia!

Maundy Thursday

Chapel

Love one another!

This was Jesus command to the disciples and to us on the day we now call Maundy Thursday.
Mr. Debrick talked to us in chapel about how we show God's love.

Sealing the Tomb

Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate, so we had our special service in the commons.
In your child's folder is the service we used. We put crosses on the  "rocks" and remembered how much Jesus loves us.

Using our feet ...

As we played in our room ...

To take a walk in the rain ....

And remembering Jesus washed the disciples' feet on the evening He shared the Last Supper with them.

How can we use our feet to serve?

We celebrated this child's birthday tomorrow!

Do you know who?

Tuesday of Holy Week

We opened the cross egg today and found a small grey egg.

This one reminds us that Jesus' body was placed in a tomb and a large stone was placed at the opening of the tomb.
We added the black cloth to remind us that this is a quiet week of remembering. We know Jesus loves us so much He let himself be hurt and die for us, so we can have life forever.

How is your bulb growing?

Today we began our week 2 observation documentation.

We started our book.

Each child wrote a page for our book, It Looked Like Spilt Milk. We can't wait to share it with you!

Other Action

Playing outside for a long time
Fun messy painting
Puzzle challenge mastered!
A fun creation in the block area - The animals can hang from the board!

Monday of Holy Week

Quiet Morning Meeting and Quiet Jesus Time ...

as we remember how Jesus showed us His amazing love!
We opened last week's egg and found yet another egg, the egg with a cross on it.
He suffered, died on the cross, and came alive again.
Because He did this we will live forever!

It Looked Like Spilt Milk

A classic book - Today we reread the story. During the week, the children will be creating a class book. Today they wondered what they would draw.

Green Collage

We are making collages of the primary and secondary colors. We made the red one in February, the purple one in March; and we are completing the green one in April.

Sorting

We sorted some shapes today. We sorted them by color, shape, size, and thickness.

What's next in the kitchen?

Today we brainstormed how we can change the kitchen for the rest of the school year. We'll keep you posted.

And some days words create the picture of our day!

Family Friday

And Pajama Day ...

and praying the prayers on our prayer wall ...

Our prayers were mostly for the safety of our families as the drive and for moms and dads to have good days as work.

and reading Join In and Play ...

a book about ways we can play with our friends.

and Grammie visiting and ....

help us practice rhyming words and read There's a Snake in the Lake. The repeated refrain is:
There's a snake in the lake
and it made me shake.
It made me wiggle and a jiggle,
and a run, run, run!

and "Gingerbread" finally crawling inside the tube to get corn!

We watched him develop his skill of doing this after only two tries.

Artsy Thursday

Painting ....

Egg carton sections. All classes celebrating the Week of the Young Child are decorating egg carton sections that will be assembled into a collaborative egg carton mobile. Watch for pictures of the completed project next week.

Storybook Land

What fun we had listening to books read by fifth graders. The children's favorites were a few Mo Willems books.

What happens when it rains?

Last Thursday we made a list of things we wonder about spring. One thing we wondered about rain. So, today Mrs. Lohman did a simple demonstration of what happens. We watched food coloring fall through the shaving creme, like rain falls through the clouds.

Happy Mismatched Day!
