Advent!

Changing our Altar

We have had the green parament on our altar since school started. Since yesterday was the first Sunday of Advent, it is time to change our classroom altar.

First, we took everything off, except for the cloth.

Then we added the blue parament and the Advent wreath.

The circle of the wreath reminds us of God's never ending love.

The Advent wreath has three blue candles, one pink, and the middle Christ candle.

We also added the Christmas cross.

This week we only light one candle, the hope candle.

As we prepare for Jesus' Birthday celebration, we read this book.

Decorating

We were busy talking about how we will decorate our room.

We also talked about the Christmas trees at our homes.

We decorated three trees with more decorating to do!
