Everyday Learning

Clay

Clay is a wonderful natural medium. The children experience its changing texture when they add water. The clay is wonderful for fine motor development, an important skill for school success.

Patterns

Patterns are so important for mathematical understanding. We had some great pattern work today.

Design

The block area is also an important learning place. As the children build, they work together on their creations. They definitely experiment with balance. Our ramps also provide a great opportunity to experiment with speed.

Outside Time

How wonderful to be outside! Time to move fast, be messy, and just enjoy the cool air.

Squirrel Work

We finally had a warmer day to work on our squirrel playground. The ladder needed repair and we needed to adjust the milk carton. We'll work on it again tomorrow and share our progress. The process is definitely causing us to develop our persistance and problem solving skills.
