Our Special Guest
Mr. Lail visited our class Tuesday, October 11.
Mr. Lail is a retired Earth Science teacher.
He has an amazing collection of rocks and he showed a few of them to us.
We opened our book A Rock is Lively to see if any of the rocks he brought were in our book.
We found four matches: Aragonite, Pyrite, Quartz, and Calcite.
The shape of the Barite is so interesting.
As we passed them around our circle, we described them and compared how they were different.
Thank you, Mr. Lail!
A Rock Quarry on the Bus to Grand Rapids
Not great pictures, due to the rain, but I did want to share.
It's an amazing site to see how rocks are cut out of the earth.
