Happy Pajama Day!

Morning Action

Since it was Family Friday, everyone drew a picture of their family when they arrived. During our group time, everyone shared who was in their picture. Four children have a younger brother. Two boys have two sisters. Two girls have one brother and one sister.

Week of the Young Child - Artsy Thursday

 Creations

Everyday our room is filled with children using their creative abilities.
Today children demonstrated their creativity as they  ...
made pattern block designs.

 built with MegaBlocks

and more MegaBlocks.

used our natural materials like the rocks.

Other Creations Included
Our red, blue, purple, and white painting
Our group collage using fun materials

Stepping Stones

As part of Artsy Thursday each class made a stepping stone for our school garden.

We decided to put a dinosaur with a sun on our stepping stone. One of our children designed dinosaur and another child designed the sun. Everyone added the tiles and gems to the cement.
Watch for the final product picture coming soon!

Bulb Observations

We are working on recording the second week of our bulb observations. Everyone is learning the different parts of the plant as they record their observations.

What's in My Egg?

Five more eggs came in today.
Believe it or not, we guessed three of the five, again today.

Today's items included Shopkins, Thomas the Train, and a spider.
They also included Batman and Judy Hopps from Zootopia.
Can you guess which ones we guessed?
We love this activity! It's fun to guess the item and still be suprised by what is inside.

Magic House Presentation
Sense-sational Science

Many helpers made this a great presentaion about our five senses.
In this picture we are listening to the sound the tuning fork makes on the pie plate.

These volunteers are using their sense of touch to match the shapes.

We used our sense of smell to guess the smell of the balloon. Everyone did a great job remembering to "Smell, but don't tell." We loved smelling the cinnamon.

Week of the Young Child - Work Together Wednesday

 Zion Spirit Day

Working together to take our group picture was a hoot!
The progression is too funny!
Just pick a child to watch and enjoy!

Fun, Fun on the Big Kid Playground

The sit and spin was a castle everyone wanted to be in.

Some Awesome Building Creations

We talked about working together and building together.

Sense-sational Science
From the Magic House

Our special guest for today helped us learn more about our five senses.
Sense of Sight
Using our sense of sight makes stacking blocks easy. It's much harder if you can't see what you are doing. This volunteer from the audience did a great job!

Sense of Hearing
Sound is caused by vibration. To demonstrate this, Mitch touched the vibrating tuning fork on the pie plate. We were surprised when it made a sound.

Sense of Touch
After touching the items in the balloon, the volunteers tried to find the matching item in the bag. That was a little tricky for our volunteers.

What's in My Egg?

We guessed five more eggs today.

We love finding out what is inside.
Like yesterday we guessed three of the items, but were stumped on two of them.
A puzzle piece and a snail shell

Silly Putty

An eraser and a chalk rock

Everyone is doing a great job keeping their item a secret!
Can't wait to guess the next group tomorrow!

Week of the Young Child - Tasty Tuesday

Tasty Tuesday

Part of Tasty Tuesday is taking good care of our bodies by eating healthy foods and exercising. To help us do that Mrs. Sylvester taught us various yoga poses. Afterward everyone felt so peaceful and calm.

Outside Time

The double slide was popular today. It's fun to go down with a friend or with no hands!

Jesus Time

Today's story was about Jesus having breakfast with the disciples. After fishing all night, the disciples had caught no fish. As they were returning to the shore, someone on the shore told them to throw their nets on the other side. They did that and caught 153 fish! The person on the shore was Jesus. They enjoyed a wonderful breakfast with him.

What's in My Egg?

We guessed the first five eggs today.
Mrs. Lohman read the clues.

Then, we think before we share our guess.
We may need to cover our mouth, so we don't shout out our guess. 😊

We guessed three of the items, but we were stumped on two of them.

Can you guess which ones we guessed?
The items were shells, a bandaid, a doggie, a nut, and a compass.
