Preparing for Ash Wednesday and our Fun Celebration

Preparing for Ash Wednesday

Before our Ash Wednesday service, the pastors at Zion visit each preschool class and teach them about the ashes we use on that day. Today Pastor Reitz talked to us with Mrs. Douglas' class. He reminded us that Lent is a time to remember that we are sinners. He put a cross on his hand to show us that the ashes are not hot.

We put away the Alleluia

Today we sang, "Hallelu, Praise Ye the Lord" and "This is the Feast" and waved our alleluia streamers. Then we placed our alleluia streamer into a box.
This is just a way to remember how grateful we are for all Jesus did for us.

These words from the hymn "Alleluia, Song of Gladness" explain this practice.
"Alleluia cannot always Be our song while here below;
Alleluia, our transgressions Make for us a while forego"

Our Celebration

We had a lot of cards to make today for our care packages.
We had many hard workers helping us get the job done!

Assembling

Thank you so much families for your donations of nail clippers!

 Adding cards and adding the twist ties

We will have 75 care packages ready for Pastor Haun tomorrow morning.

What a great way to share God's love with others!

Another Important Task for Today
