Crazy Start

Starting our Monday with no electricity was a little crazy, but the power was back on by about 9:00. All was good. We listened to how quiet the room was without the hum of electricity in the building.

Parakeet Observations

The parakeets moved to one of the big red tables, so the children could see the parakeets closer and look inside their cage.
They noticed -
their tails are long
they have little poop that is black and white.

We are starting the voting process for their names. It seems a pair of names is the best plan. We'll have the rest of our class vote on these three choices tomorrow.

Choice Time

A Hammerhead Shark that tranforemed into a Ramp House Factory

Jesus Time

Zippy, the puppet, came to visit. He's real excited about his brand new house his dad helped create and build. We talked about how God our Father created our awesome world. We read This is the World That God Made.

Small Groups

In one group the children learned about the little line and big line, little curve and big curve, the wooden pieces we use to help with letter formation.
The other group watched as Mrs. Lohman built a tall, strong, sturdy tower using the blocks in the block area.

Second Step Posters

These posters are part of our social/emotional curriculum.
Today we talked about listening and using our attenti-scope to focus our attention.

Our Hall of Fame

Each child has a poster on display in the hallway.
Today we stopped and read a few.
