Green is for the Season of Pentecost

Chapel

During chapel this year, Pastor Rouland will be teaching us about the colors of the church year.
Today he taught us about the color green.
He explained that the current season is Pentecost.
He reminded us that Pentecost is the celebration of the Holy Spirit filling the disciples with power on the first Pentecost many years ago. On that day flames of fire appeared above the disciples heads and the room was filled with wind.
The color for this season is green, which reminds us of growth.
We all thought he looked a little silly with the headband on!

Miss Bethany's Visit

Miss Bethany heard about our parakeets and wanted to visit us since she had parakeets when she was growing up. She told us about her parakeets and also gave us some advise.
She told us -
her parakeets liked taking a warm bath.
they liked to climb on things and have toys that make noise.
we should talk and play with our parakeets and be gentle.
It sure was great to have her visit as we continue to learn about our new pets.

We also added a few parakeet books to our classroom today.
The children loved looking at the pictures and comparing them to our parakeets.
