Friday Findings

Rocks are Rockin'!
Thanks, Mr. Lohman, for bringing us some flat rocks from along Lake Erie in Angola, NewYork. They are great for balancing.
While playing with the rocks, a couple of children wanted to break the rocks. They tried to stomp on them. It didn't work, because their shoes are not "bumpy."

Can you see the "break part" in this rock?

During group time, we read A Rock is Lively by Dianna Hutts Aston and Sylvia Long.
We read that ...
a rock is lively when it is "bubbling like a pot of soup deep beneath the earth's crust."
a rock is huge ... and tiny.
rocks are helpful to animals.
rocks are surprising.

Singing during Jesus Time
On Friday it's fun to just sing Jesus songs. Today we sang "God is Number One," "Ha-La-La-La," and "Jesus Love is a Bubblin' Over."

Here are a few of the artists.

A Lovely Day

Morning Observations
A mushroom and a rock with sea creatures inside of it

 Outside Time
Today's pictures are from the perspective of a three year old on the playground.
Love it!

Group Time
We read If You Find a Rock, by Peggy Christian. Her book introduced us to many different kinds of rocks. To name a few, there are skipping rocks, resting rocks, sifting rocks, climbing rocks, fossil rocks, and walking rocks.

Jesus Time
Today the children met Zippy, our Jesus time puppet. He is waiting to go to the water park with his grandparents. They have been on a trip and just returned home. He is planning to go to the water park tomorrow. His waiting reminds us of how Abraham and Sarah waited to have a baby.

God's Beautiful Creation

God's Beautiful Creation
Rocks with many different colors and textures to examine

Our ABC Name Book is almost finished.
Today some children used our name cards to match the names of the children in the book.

Our Jesus Story

Today, we learned more about Abraham and Sarah. We know that after waiting a long time, they finally had a baby named Isaac. The name Isaac means laughter, because they just could not believe they had a baby when they were so old.

Terrific Thursday

Observations from Our Day
She loves making her letter "A."

During our morning meeting, we continued work on our "ABC Name Book." Today's letter was "A." We discovered that 15 of 19 our children have one or more a's in their name.
That's alot of a's.

Outside Time

Ice Cream Shop Workers
They are selling chocolate, banilla, pink, purple, and strawberry.

In additions to the ice cream shop, much running!

Back Inside

It was so hot and humid today!
Drinks from water bottles sure do help them cool down.

Jesus Story

Today Mrs. Lohman retold the story of Abraham and Sarah's travels across the desert.
When telling the story, the focus is on watching the movement of the props and listening to the story. The children love watching Abraham and Sarah walk through the desert.
