A Community of Learners

Morning Stations

Throw Back Thursday (sort of)
Last year as part of our rock project, we broke open a geode.
This week while outside one of our children was wondering if this rock would break open. We decided to test it.
With it covered inside the towel, Mrs. Lohman hammered and hammered it.

But we weren't able to break it open.
It definitely didn't work like the geode.

Small Group Time

Very special letter making play dough
This play dough only makes letters.

First, roll the play dough into a long snake.

Then, place the play dough on the letter cards.
We had a great time talking about many letters today.

Jesus Time

Our Jesus story this week has been a sad, but very important story. This week we learned that Adam and Eve listened to the snake instead of God. When they did this, they had to leave God's wonderful garden. Even though this is very sad, we know God still loved them very much. He promised them that one day a savior would come. We know that Savior is Jesus.

We also talked about when we can act like Adam and Eve and listen to Satan instead of Jesus. On a white board we made a list of things we do when we listen to Satan. We erased that list to remind us that Jesus forgives us.
We also made a list of things we do as believers in Jesus. We know Jesus helps us:
Play together (especially in a bounce house).
Share our toys.
Give hugs and kisses.
Use kind words and hands.

Definitely a challenging story for us to learn, but really so important.

Outside Time

When we came outside, we discovered a lot of dirt in the tunnel. A group of children requested the brooms and they began to sweep the dirt out.

How fun!

Learning Centers

Since our wooden pattern blocks are sorted, they decided this set should be sorted before playing with them. 😁

Just a little pose showing their work

Sometimes when it's time to clean up, you may want to keep building. Well, you can, if you put a sign on it to  "SAVE" it. This lets your friends know you want to keep working on it the next time you have time.
