Fire Alarms and Fire Safety

Morning Stations

Recreating an overhead pattern block design from an overhead projector design

After reading Who Sank the Boat? by Pamela Allen, we tested which items sink or float. We placed the items that sink in one pile and the items that float in another pile.

Small Groups

Today we went on our first scavenger hunt. We walked around the Sonshine Ceneter and the Elementary Building looking for fire alarms.

After we saw a fire alarm, we made a tally mark on our paper. Our clipboards with a pencil attached make the task much easier.

The first group found 25 fire alarms and the second group found 20.

This is important work!

At the end of the day we were so excited!

A fire safety inspector just walked right into our room!
He showed us some of his tools and told us about fire extinguishers.
He also gave us some important information about fire safety.

Outside Time

These children played on their boat for much of their outside time. They practice many social skills as they let some friends take the lead and took turns with the materials.

Learning Centers
